Family-owned Property: Connecting with Birds and Nature Tours is spearheaded by a 4th generation farmer that raises Black Angus Cattle. The land consists of 200 acres of private property that’s been in the Joe family since the 1800s. During your visit, enjoy the scenic views along the beautiful pasture, bottom-land hardwood, creeks, and a 6-mile long nature trail -- all beautiful areas where birders and nature lovers can observe in the natural world to explore, make family-friendly memories, and experience peace of mind away from the stresses and busyness of everyday life.


Special Events: There is much to see and do at Connecting with Birds and Nature Tours. Look for seasonal and periodical wildlife, birding, or nature-enthusiast events for the young and old alike. Additionally, much opportunity exists for nature lovers to bring their own getaway-from-home event to life. Whether you’re interested in organizing a function with your church group, hosting a scenic paint and sip party, yoga in the forest, school field trip, or other special event idea, the scenic views and peaceful setting makes for a tranquil day or evening outdoors.

Guided Tours: Experience the thrill of birdwatching and re-connecting with nature. Ride in tractor trailer or walk along a 6-mile long nature trail with a guided or self-paced tour to visit the following 4 zones to observe natural wildlife such as whitetail deer, rabbits, wild turkeys, bobcats, owls, and more. Tour Big Swamp Creek, hay production and harvest on Black Angus Farm, natural paths along the highway, or wildlife in the Deep Woods.


Award-winning Farm: The Joe family maintains a Black Angus farm with award-winning operation and are the recipients of Tuskegee University’s 2017 Merit Farm Family to name a few.


Expert Partnerships: Connecting with Birds and Nature Tours has formed a partnership with Alabama Audubon, a nonprofit organization founded in 1946 that focuses on birding education and conservation. Expert partnerships like these are instrumental in helping to promote conservation as well as to build a knowledgebase of various birds species and their migratory patterns. Through this partnership, Connecting with Birds and Nature Tours has been able to identify more than 6 unique species of birds that come through the property during certain times of the year.
